Wayne, we will be leaving Nashville on Aug 3 and spending the night in the Columbus, IN area also. We will also be following the same route you have listed. Maybe we could meet north of Nashville and proceed on up together. Athens is about 2 hrs or so south of us so you should be coming through Nashville mid morning or so. What do you think?

After leaving Goshen on Aug 10 we will proceed to Wisconsin Dells for 3 nights, then to the Black Hills, SD for 3 nights, on to Glacier Nat Park for 4 nights, down to the Tetons and Yellowstone for both FROG events for a total of 10 nights. At the end of Yellowstone we will head home to Nashville, arriving back home around Sept 10. This will be our first long trip and I hope we haven't bitten off too much. Should be a great trip.

Binghamton has a small airport that flew into, the first time, on a very cold afternoon! Lt. Eaton if I recall. Nope, can't meet you en route, but we'll see ya there! Safe travels.

How are you planning to drive? I-81 to I-80? We'll be coming I-84 to side roads to I-80. (Hate that stretch of I-81 through Scranton.) Planning to leave Wednesday 7/30 with 2 nights in Pennsylvania and 2 in Ohio.

The reason we're staying 2 nights in Ohio is because of the weekend thing and worry about getting sites Friday and Saturday nights without reservations that time of year.

How are other people handling that? Do you get a reservation for Friday night and then another for Saturday and drive on Saturday? We usually stay in public campgrounds and they seem to be full most weekends during the warmer months and most will not accept one day reservations on weekends anyway.

Route from Georgia

Our trail boss (cooksey's) will probably have a better way, but from Dallas,GA. we are taking I-75 north to I-24 north to I-65 thru Bowling Green. Planning on spending one night at Elizabethtown, Kentucky, then on to Indy and pickup Highway 31 North to Hwy. 33 to Goshen..that way we will bypass Ft Wayne all together and should be a shorther distance.
