We should be there a day or two early.
We left about 2 weeks early from Texas as we travel SLOW.
Stopped over in Branson for a few days right now.

Is the muck pile a preferred site for some campers?

It's the preferred site to keep FT Turbs in.

My guess it was an older campground in the day. Roads and sites are gravel but the ground is hard and as good as concrete to park on. The people are very nice and accommodating. The grounds are well kept, roads and sites smallish but sufficient. No pool or laundry on site but some close. Area reminds me of Branson in the early 70's, caves and miniature golf. Exit has construction going on, but no problems getting around. I did try to run over a traffic barrel while site seeing, but DW saved the day. It is a Passport America and does take reservations. I would recommend it and there is a Cracker Barrel about 3 miles away. Always a plus with us.
We stayed at site 44, one of many pull-thrus , the attached pictures from there. As you can see the Park is small.Click image for larger version

Looks like you lucked out with your site. The guy next to you is tiny in comparison.

Yes, but I did mention I was a FROG when I made the reservation.

Nice looking CG - We are PA members as well and that is why we wanted to stay there (we are going to Mammouth Cave as well

Thanks for the photos! I do know that some PA CGs are hit and miss - not expecting a resort CG at PA prices

This is from an early thread from Bob:
"If you plan to arrive early or stay late, you can make arrangements by contacting Bev or Diane at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairground, (574) 533-3247. "

Hope this helps, think there are around 187 of us planning an early arrival.

X2 -- please call ahead and reserve. Bev & Diane will then forward your early arrival info to Bob & the parking team (you have already been assigned a Rally parking slot).

It will smooth things over and everyone will know where to park you when you arrive early.
