I did. Of course I thought you were implying there was a difference between some of the Honda's and those I was looking at. I bet your an absolute peach to be camping next to.

Not at all. Mine is on a permanent seasonal site. Nobody using generators, inverters or otherwise.

I too am using the Champion 3100 with 15k btu coleman Air Conditioner. Added the quick start capacitor on the AC and run everything off the 30 amp. plug - no problems. At altitude I switch out the intake jet (called Champion to order it). Very happy with the Champion.

Love the convenience, quietness and economy of my champion 3100 inverter. Runs 15000 ac, and start and stop with wireless remote.

I ordered the bigger 3400/3100 champion. That one came with remote and new warranty for $930. I only have a 13.5k air conditioner but thinking I should be more than good to go now.

MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE GENERATOR'S CONTINUOUS RATING. Most generators numerical identification (Honda 2200, Champion 3100, Predator 2000) are SURGE capacity and not continuous generating capacity. The Honda 2200 is rated for 1700 watts continuous, the Champion 3400 is rated for 3100 watts continuous, etc..etc..)

Surge rating is important but don't be mislead in thinking that the model generator number is the actual continuous rating-IT AIN'T

Personally, I don't think that a Champion 3100 (continuous 2800 watt rating) is sufficient for camping especially if you go to higher altitudes. With 2800 watts, you may have trouble running the air conditioner if your battery is low-my converter can use up to 900 watts and you may not have sufficient residual for other items.

With the champion 3400 (3100 continuous), I can run air conditioner and microwave at same time without worries.
