or besides Cabela's having their sale, right now we could get the Predator 4000. Do you know anything about the Predator??
There is NO such thing as a "quiet" open frame generator.
Decibel ratings are logarithmic. So a difference of 8 decibels is HUGE. That's sales BS that 68db is quiet.

I own a Champion 3500/4000 with the 68db rating and I also own a Honda 2000i with a 53-58db rating.
With the Champion, you have to yell to converse with someone standing next to you.

But for desert camping, either generator would work, depending on the size of your a/c. 13.5k should work, not sure with a 15k.
The Champion is a tried and true generator with great customer support. Don't think the Predator can make the same claim.

At 90 decibels you start to do hearing damage . I have the 2000 watt inverter Champion that can be paired to make 4000 watts. They have a 53-58db rating also. weights in at less than 50 lb so easy to move. It is very quiet and sips the gas at a very slow rate for the power it makes. If you look around you can buy one at $450.00.

Hope This Helps Tim
