Boondocking

I have a XLR 27HFS and do a lot of boondocking.I also have the onan 4000 watt generator.I have decided to go with the 6 volt batteries for the house batteries and add a inverter,I would then like to keep the 12 volt battery dedicated to the generator for starting in case the 6 volts run too low.My question is how to set it up so all the batteries get charged while the generator is running and also while towing.Any advice on inverters and solar charging would als be very helpful.

Since I already have an Amp-L-Start I plan to use it to charge a dedicated generator starting battery if I need it. We haven't spent a summer out in our Lexington yet so I'm not sure I will need the extra weight.
In case you are not familiar with the Amp-L-Start it is a 15amp charger that connects from the starter battery to the house battery bank. Whenever the house battery is being charged the A-L-S charges the start battery. Does not draw down house battery when not being charged.

Check out the solar controller. It has two out puts for charging two different sets of batteries. I use it and it works good for me.

I have 3 battery banks. 2 banks contain 2 6v batteries, and the 3rd bank contains 2 group 27 batteries. All banks are switched using battery selector switches. Very easy to use and install.
