Camping in Smokemont campground.

Should I let the water heater run the whole time or cut it off during the low use part of the day?
Some say it takes more propane to reheat the water, so leave it on.

I'd love to hear from someone that has actually measured their propane consumption. We always shut ours off when not needed.

I went 7 days on one 20lb bottle by only running the hot water when needed. Only took 10 minutes to warm up. Once in am to wash face and again at night to shower. Didn't have to wash any dishes. That included running the furnace most nights, fridge the whole time.

Had to come back home, although we didn't want to. It was a wonderful time.
The 10 days felt more like 3 days, they went by so fast.
Kept the water heater on, and of course the refrigerator, cooked biscuits in the oven, cooked on the stove, and used a little over 20lbs of propane. Switched tanks on the 8th day. Did not run the furnace.☺
