Dometic Generators

Just purchased a Dometic Generator & was wondering how many folks have them? Price was great @ $800 for a 3000 watt generator/inverter. Supposedly quiet @ 59 db
Will find out in a cpl weeks when I can pick it up and report back

Here's a link to a video I took today with my Canon Powershot A530 camera on movie mode. It's a comparison between my old Hyundai 1250 peak wattage generator & the Dometic :LW3000Plus inverter generator.

The Dometic Manual claims 59db at idle & it does get louder once a load is placed on it but it is still significantly quieter than the Hyundai with no load.

Purchase price was $800 + taxes of 5% here in Alberta Canada and it was available as a special at the recent RV show in Calgary through the dealer Affordable RV

You can find other videos on my You Tube Channel under TMLHKYFN

I have one that I bought last year. It is fairly quiet, but haven't really compared it side by side with another model for a comparison. I hooked it up and ran my 13.5k A/C unit with it, but didn't try it with the 15k to see if it would even attempt to start it. I did use it to run power for a band during one of my pool parties and did a great job powering the amps, and since it was behind a privacy fence, the sound wasn't noticeable at all. The electric start is pretty much useless, battery drains between uses. Keep an extra spark plug on hand.

I only performed the comparison as I already owned the Hyundai & only used it to charge the battery when dry camping. Was interesting & can't wait to see how it works on the TH. I did have to purchase a "twist lock" adapter so the trailer plug can be connected to the generator 30amp plug

I was thinking that the electric start was useless & wondered if a new/better battery might work? Mine came with an extra spark plug; how often does it need to be cleaned? Can you recommend a better spark plug?

Just bought one of these after seeing one in person. I thought it was amazingly quiet. Should arrive next week
