Dusty RV

Hi All,

We were in West TX for 2 months and it was unbelievably dusty and windy with the drought they have had for several months.

I have been fighting with the dust in the RV (2004 Sunseeker Class C) since we left TX. Iíve cleaned carpets, curtains, furniture and everything else that may have gotten dusty and yet, every time I turn the AC on, my eyes start to hurt and I get stuffed up pretty bad. The ac filter gets dusty every few days and I have to wash it.

I have actually taken the interior plastic shroud off the AC unit and cleaned the evaporator (I think thatís what it is) and the hamster wheel with a vacuum cleaner.

I must be missing something.

I learned just recently that the corners of my slide rubber insulation donít close completely and that probably was the culprit that let a lot of dust in while we were in TX. I have those openings covered now.

Any suggestions on what else to look at or clean? Should I take the shroud off the exterior AC on roof and clean that too?

Thanks
Rich

I would. The filter only filters the incoming air. So your air outlets need cleaning as well. I'd take the whoe thing apart and vacuum

Is your AC ducted (sorry, not familiar with your coach)? If it is, there's probably a lot of dust in those ducts. Not sure exactly how you'd clean those out to be truthful...
