Herk...while I agree with everything else you say, I'm struggling with this statement.
The ideal charging amps for FAST charging bulk/absorbtion for the typical 80 to 100amphour battery...is 16 to 20 amps. Running a 6 amp charger will take a LOT longer generator run time.
The ideal generator to put out 20 amps @ 14.4 volts... is 288watts...so you don't need a 700 watt generator to simply charge the battery. If you want to do more with the generator 700 may be fine or not enough if you want to power a lot of stuff.
I like the recommendation of a separate battery charger from the genny...but something like an Iota DLS20 with IQ 4 stage charging would be a much better choice IMO. I second the 6V golf cart batteries. $85 each at Costco (need 2), wired in series will be able to handle 2 nights in just about any conditions as long as they were fully charged at the beginning. They are heavy and add tongue weight, but you will be covered.

to the OP, you'd be lucky to go one night on a Group 24 battery, running the furnace.
we rarely camp with any hookups so we have a dual battery setup and a Honda 2000.

and as was said, expecting your tow vehicle to recharge a depleted battery is not realistic.
one, most tow vehicles supply only a trickle charge while towing. and if the battery is dead, you'd have to drive over 12 hours probably to get it anywhere near full charge.

On quite time if the gen is under a certain db will it violate a rule. Thanks

Yes, any generator running during quiet times, is a violation of the campground rules.
Even if it's quiet, no matter the db rating.
