If you are going to use other things while you have the generator running and it is going to run for a long time (+6 Hrs) then it doesn't matter. Your trailer charger is a trickle charger. The direct output from the generator is more like a charger you would use to charge a car battery. Using that output directly to your battery will charge it must faster than the trailer charger would. (probably less than an hour)
Thanks for the response. Since this is our first foray into dry camping I am taking the charger also. I don't anticipate running on the battery much. Just for stating the ignition processes. Minimal use of lights as we have led lanterns. I will take my charger/starter just for piece of mind. Better to have it then to not and need it...
