the last one i remember was 5 dead in a TT, at a motorcycle rally campground.
put the generator right next to the trailer overnight, with a open hatch door.
never woke up.

That's really sad news. Dan, correct me if I'm wrong but don't we have carbon monoxide detectors in our TT's?

only on newer trailers, since 2003 or 2004, maybe. i think they were in an older trailer that didn't have one.

I would suggest actually listening to any generator that you are thinking of to see if you can stand it in the application that you intend it for. Also be cautious about the exhaust as these units (all of then) put out about 30,000 ppm of carbon monoxide which will kill you in a few breaths, if not diluted by fresh air. There have been reports of people operating a generator close to their TT's and with the wrong wind condition, and an open window, being overcome by the CO.

IMO
It don't help when they give their specs differently. I ordered a pair of Champion 2000i with paralell connector should be here Friday, anyway the Champion spec said 53 Db from 23 feet away. Honda sometimes says 53 Db and sometimes 58 Db, without stating distance on either. Well I guesss I'll see what 53 Db from 23 feet away sounds like.
