NASCAR Camping No Hookups

Hi All,

Some friends of mine are intending to mooch off me to attend our first ever Nascar event at Kansas Speedway next month. We are all pretty excited about the trip and have 5 guys booked for Friday through Monday morning. I am concerned about a few things as there are no hookups at the site we are at…..I have a brand new battery along with a Yamaha 2400 generator for re charging. Plan on using the bathroom and shower sparingly….but with enough coolers full of beer anything can happen. Am I crazy???? What pointers can some of you give me about living off the grid with a bunch of drunk idiots?

Two words: Blue boy. I think you may have an issue with the black tank unless there are bathrooms on site they can use. You really only "rent" beer. What goes in, must come out!

You say there are no hookups at your site. But is there water and a dump station close by ? If so, you will be fine with the genny.

If not, try to use porta-potties as much as you can. Use the camper toliet only if you have to. Once it's full you're done without a dump station.

Same with the greywater. Make sure you have plenty of propane for the fridge too.

Sounds like a good time, enjoy it.

We go to New Hampshire every Sept, and it is dry camping there too.... the tracks usually are very well organized and have trucks driving throughout the camping area to pump out your tanks. If i remember correctly we paid $35 to have our tanks emptied on Sat afternoon. you will prob need extra fresh water to get you through too I take a couple extra water jugs to pour in and it gets us through but there is usually a truck selling fresh water as well.........

You and your buddy's have a month to do some bladder control exercises. Five guys and several coolers of beer will result in excessive urinary output.

We're going to Martinsville this week and Darlington Next month. Make sure you have a shower head that cuts water off and make sure the guys know you get wet and shut of water. Lather, then rinse. You will go through your water in 1 shower if you leave it running. Other than that you should be fine. If you require AC, make sure your Generator has enough juice and you have enough fuel to last the 4 days. I doubt a 2400 will run AC but should run everything else.

We only have three rules at fish camp when the boys and I take my trailer that can easily be used for NASCAR:

1) What happens at fish camp; stays at fish camp.
2) Anything your bring with you belongs to the fish camp.
3) You break it; you buy it (that's my special rule).

Kansas

We have a infield Rv spot for the upcoming Kansas race. Hoping everything works out so we can go for sure. First time camping in the infield! Camped at Chicagoland two years ago and it was a blast. There was a lot of port a potties and showers when we were there but used mostly the TT bathrooms and I believe we got it pumped out once and filled with water from the trucks.
Hope you have a blast.

We attend Talladega in the infield twice a year. Talladega has independant contract trucks that suck your grey and black tanks out for a fee and fresh water trucks that fill your fresh water tank. At Talladega the fee is $25 dollars to dump and $25 dollars to fill you up. Make sure you bring enough gasoline to last you while you are there for your generator. It seems like every race I go to, I end up lending gas to neighbors.

Propane for fridge, extra gasoline for generator, (July heat!), battery operated fans, lots of ice for the coolers, maybe a portable camp stove that runs off those little propane bottles and lantern too, sunscreen and they also have portipotties stationed everywhere. We had season tickets for several years, one year we seen some guys tip over a portipottie while someone was in it! No joke!
