Residential refrigerator and boondocking

Not planning on boondocking often and the just for single night but I was wondering how long a residential refrigerator would run off of the batteries without a recharge? There are two heavy duty batteries standard with our new motor home. Will these last over night?

That's gonna be close. Last I checked residential refridge on inverter drew about 162 amp hours in 24 hours without any other power use. Add 25 to 50 amp hours for lights and extras and your up over 200 amp hours . If over night is 8 hours and batteries are healthy then you may be ok but start the generator or get moving early. The inverter will cut out if low voltage and that may be easy to trigger with only 2 batteries ( usually 100 to 110 amp hours each. ) Suprised you only have 2 batteries with a residential fridge. Many have 4 , what rig / motor home do you have?

Lots of factors to consider like outdoor temps, size of fridge, condition of batteries, etc. Last year I replaced a failing Dometic 8 cu. ft. RV fridge with a $300 open box Whirlpool 11.8 residential connected to a $100 2000W inverter running off of (2) 12V batteries. It's ready to pack in 1 hour, lots more space inside, & it lasts over 1 day on a hot beach with just (2) 12V batteries. I found WEN Yamaha 2000 clones for $375. One charges the batteries in 2-3 hours & two will provide 30A for the A/C if the temps get too miserable...
