Funny you say that epen, RVtravel.com editor Chuck Woodbury doesn't thinks so. Why don't you view the embedded video on proper edicate while a "guest" at a Walmart. He also talks about your slides and levelers statements in your other posts in this thread.

We just happened onto it when we were on a trip with the 5er and she said "I WANT THAT CAR". End of discussion, we pulled the 5er home, next day we flew back to Arkansas and drove it home.

My generator is a whisper compared to the street sweeper zooming around the parking lot all night.

The BIG difference is that his is necessary to perform his job. You are the guest.
Do you gripe about the parking lot lights also? Some people's kids.

Look at it this way; it's their street sweeper, cleaning their parking lot, or, how about this one: customer A talks to store mgr B and says; "excuse me sir, that street sweeper, your using in your parking lot is awefully loud", yeah right.
Since "customer A" is probably an over nighter, true. Think about it.

Geezzzzz! Lighten up folks. I was joking about the sweeper. I have stopped and spent the night at a Walmart all of 3 or 4 times in my camping history. When we have stayed it has been when we stopped and spent several hundred dollars on supplies, haircut etc.

Just check with the store involved first. I find they are very accommodating when they see you with a shopping cart full of goods

Best to stay outa sight.. We were pushed for time as we had to travel to Nebraska from Florida for a funeral.. I found a vacant parking lot behind a church. spent 5 hours there for some ZZZZ's and after I found the church phone number (on the sign out front) We called later got their address and sent them a donation along with a thankyou note.. received a return note from them thanking us, and inviting us back.. We have to put out the bedroom slide as I am 6' tall, and the bed tucks under the opposite wall when slide is in..

When we had a 5th wheel we locked a Yamaha generator to the back side. It was one of those silent ones, under 60 decibels. We used it in some California national parks that had no hook ups. Worked fine, expensive yes.

Lol we overnighted at the Walmart in Page AZ a few years back. Slides out, jacks down, Onan running and I cooked supper on the barbecue! We were parked at the back of the lot, where even discarded carts don't dare to go. And we did stock up on groceries and beer while there, after asking if we could stay.

I've heard both on Walmart etiquette. Some say slides and generator others say neither.
One alternative might be Casinos. I stumbled across this web site that list casinos that allow RV's. The good thing is they have security and cameras. I'm planning a casino stop in a month. http://casinocamper.com/

I have stayed at a walmart multiple times both in the TT and my semi. Every experience I have had has been nothing but great. Even the police on patrol have came and talked to us and asked for us to help keep an eye out. They seem to embrace more traffic at night so there are more potential eyes to help with crime. We have never ran the generator but we do put the slide out, the only employee that asked about it was the guy picking up carts and when I explained to him that we have a 7 month old and need the room for his pop up crib that was the end of it.
It's all how you present yourself, if you get fully set up like at a campground put your signs out and start unpacking the truck and grilling out then yes I can see the problem in that, but if you pull in late and tired from the road then I see no harm in staying the night but we always go in and buy something so we are not just bumming a night for free.

I always try to stay as far out of the way as possible when Wally Docking. In this case, I felt that extending only the BR slide was not any kind of a problem.

Nice Bluepill, That's the way I would do it too. I would feel uncomfortable putting the slide where another vehicle could clip it.
