We have had our 17qb now for a year now and really enjoy it. I tow with a 2000 Grand Cherokee with no problems. The trailer has good amount of room for the two of us. I have done a few mods to it like the seperation wall under the bed to the pass thru. Added a second battery and second propane tank. Also added two drawers to the front end of the bed. So far its been trouble free.

Here are my specs for my 07 Kia Sorento LX

3.8L V-6 262HP Engine
5 speed sportmatic transmission with OD
Max Trailer weight 5,000 lbs Towing Capacity

I believe it will work for the 17qb, what do you think?

Tow our 17fq with a 2011 Ford Ranger 4x4.
4.0 V-6 with Gibson cat back exhaust system and a cold air intake kit. Not sure on my hp but the low end torque is increased as you can feel the difference even DW noticed. My tow rating is 6000 lbs.
It has a 6 speed trans but when towing you turn the overdrive off. You will know its back there but I have no problems pulling it. Averaging 10 1/2 to 11 mpg towing vs. 17 - 18 not.
Hope that answers some of your questions.

ZAPME01,

Can you upload pics of your mods? I'd like to see how you placed the second battery and propane tank.

I added a drawer to the galley cabinet go give us a place for utensils.

Our Chevy gets about 14 MPG empty and maybe 11 pulling the trailer. That's the main reason why we're buying a 2015 Frontier to replace the Chevy!

zapme01,

Nice looking drawers. Did you build or buy those drawer fronts?

Barry I purchased the drawers at Lowes as part of a closet organizer accessory.

There is a guy on a Facebook blog who is having a big problem with a warranty from this manufacture. The electrical wire to his slide caught on fire and they will not help him. I guess most of these companies have their problems.

We just got the Clipper 17FQ and the walk around bed was a huge selling point. Not having to crawl over someone in the middle of the night makes the 17FQ set-up nice. We pull it with our V6 Murano, about the size of your Cherokee.
