They are built into the arms of the awning.

Wow, that's pretty cool! Is that a power awning or manual?

Its a manual awning. The speakers aren't the best, maybe one day I'll upgrade but I really don't use them that much.

5) Installed digital thermostat
This is a great forum topic that you all have going. WNY_Clipper could you give some info about your fix for the dimmer control on the light over the bed. I have disliked that bright light since day one. Thanks for any help you could provide.

Hey WNY,
The remote most likely goes farther than the door. I just used some Velcro and stuck the remote onto the end of the cabinet as you walk in so it acts more like a light switch. My luck with remotes I'd loose it if it wasn't stuck in one place...lol.

Has anybody add a privacy curtain/shade to the front window?

My previous Jayco had a valance and blind on that front window just like on the sides. The guide strings kept the lowered blind in place on that slanted front wall. Obviously, there was more inside that part of the wall to attach the valance to besides 1/8" luan.

Until I can learn more about the strength of our wall, I intend to hang some blackout fabric over the front wall window using adhesive Velcro tabs. Nothing fancy, and I would do the same on the door if I replace that frosted window with regular glass.

But our 17FQ is still in the shop, awaiting parts. My tinkering ideas are really backing up.

curtans for front

I have been looking at that since we bought ours last year ,thinking of a way to put curtains up with Velcro but need a way to open them in the day time, I still have to put the led lights up for the awning and want to put a light in the pass through compartment I have a light for that but I am down in my leg right now just as the weather is getting warmer what a bummer, I am thinking about putting a 1/4 inch dowel rod on Velcro and then a curtain could slide back and forth just a thought I
am sure some one will chime in with a good idea. there are some smart people on this forum.

That was one of the first things SWMBO put up. She mounted a couple of rods, one top and bottom, then made her curtains so they would slid to the sides. It is so much a part of the camper I had forgot all about her even making it.

Even better. More than one way to skin a cat.

This was in my old 16B, I think I prefer it over the one I made for my new camper.

I thought about doing it this way, but our window wall is actually our headboard and I think the lower rod will be a problem sitting up in bed reading. I think maybe using a bungie style cord on the lower portion so it wouldn't stick out, that might fix the problem.

I just installed the rods now I have to find some material and finish. The rods are not a problem for us because the wall slants inward and you can't lean against it any way.So we just lay down and read.

The overhead light isn't very useful for reading in bed. I found these LED lamps on Amazon and installed one on either side of the bed.

I was able to pull 12V off the overhead fixture and feed it down the inside of the cabinets. The lamps swivel to shine the light where you want and each has it's own on/off switch.
