I installed a "1/4" female to 1/4" male 90 degree elbow" into the block first then the "3/8" flare (hose side) to 1/4" NPT male" into the elbow. Without the elbow in the distribution block the hose was jammed tight to the frame and was kind of tight for my liking, the elbow gave it some better clearance. I had to demount the distribution block (2 tech screws) to mount the elbow in place. Now it was just a matter of tightening everything down, then time to check the connections. I carefully used soap and water to check all the connections under pressure to ensure there were no leaks. Everything was perfect no issues. Now it's time to go camping I think!

What grill are you planning to use that will work on the low pressure side?

I think the first thing will be the propane fire pit...the 20' hose will replace the regulated one. Have my eye on a couple of grills but it might be the good old Coleman on the 1 lb bottles this year.

Thanks Kenrod...use Minwax stuff mostly. Tried mixing some Watco oils but the minwax matched pretty decent. The ply I use is the 1/2" pine/alder G2S from HD, it's a 5 ply and stays pretty stable and matches our cabinets pretty well. The solid walnut I use on the drawer fronts comes out slightly redder, but still matches fairly close.

Thanks for the compliments, BC. Please call me Homer. Mike is who made the list.
Reversing the floorplan wasn't the only change; looking at your under frame photos, I think that yours is an LCI frame. Mine is a BAL brand.
The over door hand towel rack came from Lowes. We put one also in the bathroom. Takes very little space.

Roger Homer...we'll be checking at Lowes as we now have a local one.
Is one frame better than the other? Mine came with 13" wheels, I've bumped them up the 14".

Mine sits a little higher, came with 14" wheels, and could probably take 15".
Lighter? Stronger? Cheaper? Easier to make? They re-engineered the frame for a reason, but I'm not sure why. I just noted differences in your photos. The BAL frames are used on only a few product lines, but Lippert Components seems to dominate. Even mine has an LCI/Dexter Axle.

Has anyone upgraded the TV antenna yet? Camping this past weekend, I had a real hard time getting anything to come through.

If you have the Continu.us "omnidirectional" antenna, you know how bad that can be. Even with the amplifier on, I only receive one channel in my driveway while a portable antenna in the house receives three. When choosing a replacement, remember that it also supports the radio.

If you should come up with a good replacement PLEASE let the rest of us know. That place holder FR puts on the roof is a real piece of junk.

My previous trailer had the old standby, Winegard Sensor w/ Wingman. It was directional and it worked, but you had to crank it up before you could rotate it. Problem on the 17FQ is that the current antenna is located directly over wall cabinets, making it impossible to use the same hole in the roof to locate the Sensor crank. Maybe if we make a new hole foreward of the cabinets to mount the new antenna, but then we would also have to move the cables to the new hole and patch the old hole in the roof.
No, it would be simplest if we found a true omnidirectional antenna that WORKS that we could install where the current one is now. Is that too much to ask? Otherwise, we might just as well give up on broadcast TV and replace the current POS with a satellite dish. But 100 satellite channels is not my idea of camping!
One shortcut is that we could test antennas (antennae?) by plugging into the outside antenna port without repeatedly making a mess of the roof membrane.

The antenna supplied with the 17FQ really does suck. I've been setup at sites where I couldn't get any broadcast channels at all yet people setup next to me have no problem receiving dozens of channels.
I've thought of using a few sections of PVC to make a mast that I could break down for storage, mount a decent long-range TV antenna to it and run the connection thru the external cable connector.
But I'd really like to find something that simply replaces the current antenna and works better.

Two omnidirectional options are Winegard RoadStar ($111) and King Omni ($90). Neither are supposed to be as good as a directional antenna. Also the self-aiming Winegard Rayzar Automatic($399).
Like Austintatious, I have also considered a temporary external antenna. It would give the best reception, but requires setup every time you want to use it. Not desirable if you are on the go.

antenna help
I have my 17fb in shop right now because I can't pick up any channels either I will let you know what I find out. If I get it back this summer this is the first time I have used this dealer. I don't the coaxial is connected up rightI tried to get it to work in my driveway and only got one of three stations available in this area. But when you look at where the antenna is on the roof it is blocked by the air conditioner on one side but I don,t think that should matter with TV. .

I rotated it clockwise (I think) and moved it about 8 inches to theright. This was to accommodate a double battery box for two 6V Trojan batteries.

Winegard RoadStar antennas available in 2000 and 3000 series for roof mount. King Recently released OmniPro for roof and OmniGo portable. King models so new there is a lack of actual user reviews.
