About to purchase a 2013 301BHDS and wondering if the unit is Satellite ready or only for cable? Just wondering if I'm going to have to run RG6 or if it's already there?
I have the '15 310BHDS. Underneath the TV area there is that little box with two (2) threaded co-ax connectors. Two months ago the boss lady decided we needed a satellite dish setup. The top connector on the plate was clearly labeled "SAT TV" the bottom was labled "CABLE TV". We had been using the cable TV connection before the satellite purchase. When I set the satellite dish up and had aimed it as instructed I could get nothing from that "SAT TV" connection. I removed the plate to find that there was nothing attached to the back side of this connection. I hooked the sat dish to the outside connection labeled "CABLE IN" and got nothing from the lower connector on this plate. Somewhere on this forum I found a thread about this and it was stated that not all of these TV connections on the plate inside would work with sat dishes. Something to do with that splitter and antennae power booster thingy. I ran the co-ax straight from the dish to the TV by placing the co-ax through a window and it worked fine. I had to run a new co-ax just for the dish to the TV area. The original TV co-ax was run through the ceiling then down the outside wall to the "CABLE IN" connection. I ran the new co-ax down through the TV cabinet under the bed, and into the front storage area leaving about 20 feet of co-ax in the storage area. This can be pulled out when using the dish. I plan to add a co-ax connector to the outside of the camper near the storage area soon.
