2015 Coachmen Chaparral - enclosed and heated underbelly?
I've been wondering out our 360IBL and whether it has heat ducted from the living area into the underbelly to keep the tanks warm. We do not have the tank heaters. On one website description, I saw the mention of enclosed and heated underbelly but can't find anything in the documentation we have that says that, only "enclosed underbelly".
I know it's not a "cure all" for cold weather camping but just wanted to know.
Anybody out there with any knowledge about it?

All I can add to this is that I was told that it is indeed a heated underbelly. Going to ask my salesman via email now and will report back.

Thanks Blwnsmoke! Our MSRP sheet just says "Polar Package (Manufactured for cold weather camping w/a fully enclosed underbelly w/heated and encl dump valves...." so it just wasn't clear to us.

Our Chappy light says four season too.Maybe if you live south of here.It does have two heater ducts(4") dumping into the enclosed belly, but not a ounce of insulation.I had to drop one panel to replace a tank valve.Never saw a thing that looked even remotely like insulation.

Yes, I've had it out in 15 degree weather. As long as the furnace is working, you'll be fine. It sure sucks a lot of gas to keep it warm!

Agree with the no insulation, our Chap Lite just has a heavy cardboard like panel that keeps most of the cold air out.
Keeping the furnace running will help keep the tanks from freezing, but this is NOT an arctic package, that's why they have options for tank heaters.
It will probably not freeze up unless you go a prolonged period --- more than a weekend, and the temp really drops a lot below freezing.

Thanks everybody for your comments. I am hoping we will never be camping in below freezing temps for long but good to know info that it's possible if not prolonged

I plan on using the Trailer for Hunting too. Prolong cold temperatures. Do you recommend the tank heaters. We can go dry too.

I take my 360 with me hunting. No problems for me. When RV MFG's started putting PEX water lines in everything water line breaks became much less common. The PVC drains on the other hand still break easily.

possible spec changes?
Sorry to bump an older thread, but I'm in need of a little help...
Seems like Coachmen changed all their Chaparral brochures and descriptions for MY2016. I've been trying to find where the confirmation is about the EHUB, but I can only find notations about the Azdel sidewalls and Radiant Shield Insulation.
We're specifically interested in the 371MBRB and 372QBH, so can anyone confirm if these Chaparral mid-profile 5W models do, indeed, have the EHUB as either standard or optional equipment?

I just picked my 371 mbrb up from the dealer and asked them the same question. And he told me yes with it being enclosed the way it is it is heated there are just no tank heaters on these models. He said if it gets blow 0 you might want to kick the heat on as low as possible it will warm it up in no time there

What Alex said. I have a 2016 390QSMB. It definitely has an enclosed underbelly and I was told the bottom of the in floor furnace duct have some cutouts that blow hot air into the underbelly. I've never seen them, but camped in below freezing weather and didn't have any issues.

You are correct. We just bought a new Catalina 253 RKS with an Enclosed Underbelly and your furnace mounted on the floor is ducted underneath and has vents to allow some heated air to be blown into the underbelly area.
If you pull your underbelly cover in a corner you can see this.

HUGE thank you to all three of you! This just made our decision - a Chaparral will be our first 5W.

Welcome to the club! I hope you enjoy it as much as we are. I'm actually out for a long weekend in Branson right now.

How do you pull the underbelly cover? Does it just snap on and off, or are those screws or rivets holding it in place? I see what looks like little pyramid shaped fasteners, but have not messed with them fearing I might break something. Mine is 2016 Coachmen 281 RLDS.
