2017 Freedom Express 297rlds Liberty Edition

We are considering buying a Coachman. Always Owned a Forest River Flagstaff. I know the Coachman is owed by Forest River but curious if someone owns one of these and can give me some feedback. We are looking at a loaded unit, Do you like it, how does it tow? Has it been issue free? Thoughts?
Thanks!

I do not have that one but my experience has been very good. I wish they did a better job rustproofing, but I am going to do that myself. I have been happy with the quality. Ours is a bunkhouse so the bathroom is little small.

I have contacted FR for info and have always received prompt responses. Had an issue where slide was damaged but it was quickly fixed with no issues. Other than that it has been big issue free. I had some things (minor) that were taken care of. I tow with 1/2 ton and it does well.

So overall I am very happy with it. We had it a year and we are anticipating many more.

Good Luck

We love ours. During our first yer with it, we camped out 30 days and towed it over 5000 miles. We have 10,000 miles booked so far for this year.

Our Coachmen ( note "e" not "a") is 2+ years and no issues since taking delivery. Tows well and has held up well.

We had a '96 fifth wheel for 10 years and loved every minute of it. Never had any problems except the ones we caused! We've had a Freedom Express for a couple of months now. Two trips and couldn't be happier. Coachmen always has the best floor plans for us.

We have a 2017 292BHDS Liberty Edition that we ordered and took delivery last summer.

We love the color matching and finish plus the outdoor kitchen is the cake, love it.

As for issues and details.
Biggest issue was the dometic fridge which ended up being replaced. It had a faulty control panel or something and they ended up replacing entire unit.

We also had a cupboard latch break off and had to be replaced. The stove vent outside is cracked and needing replaced

Other than these issues the fit and finish is solid on the camper and we love the color and accenting they did.

Coachmen really has some nice features that are well thought out to save room and make camping easier. Some of these include

Slam latches on front storage
LED lit front storage
Silverware tray design in kitchens slide around sink saving space. You have to see it to understand.

Well placed switches for interior and exterior lights

Electric Fireplace is nice

Awning extends and retracts quickly

Window accents with easy pull down privacy screens

Frameless windows makes for sleek look
