292BHDS tire size?

So while getting ready for the season I was going over our unit and took a closer look at the tires. On the sidewall they state they can hold 1760 lbs. at 50 PSI and are only 14". So I did some quick calculations and came up with this:

Dry weight: 6280#
Cargo capacity: not to exceed 1240
This is according to the yellow sticker on the door.

Tires: 1760 x 4=7040. Wait, what?? Um that doesn't sound right. Anyone else notice this on their unit? Is there something I'm missing here? So the tires can't handle the posted capacity of the trailer? Did the manufacturer perhaps put the wrong tires on our unit?

The tongue weight doesn't ride on the tires. That being said, those tires are marginal at best for your sized trailer.

My trailer UVW is 6441lbs same axles an tires. My leaf springs like many on the 292 went flat after on us only six months. Lippert sent 2,000lb leaf springs free of charge as they stated the axle beam can handle upto 2,500lb leaf springs.

I am after just two years I am changing out the China bombs with Maxxis tires for peace of mind.

This ^^^ is what you missed. Tongue weight when loaded to max (7520) should be 900lbs.

7520-900=6620 on all 4 tires.

6620/2 axles = 3310/axle

6620/4 tires = 1655/tire.

Can you guys tell me what the tire size is for the 292bhds? I'm looking at this trailer this week, but want to factor in new tires into my price! Also, when looking for "flattened leaf springs" can you tell me what I should be looking for? I've heard it can be an issue, but not sure how / where to look! Thanks again guys, love this forum!

Tire size is 14" ST205/75R and after extensive research I strongly suggest only purchasing Maxis tires. I swear my these tires, my overall tracking & towing has approved greatly. And if someone ever told me changing tires to a performance tire on a trailer would do this I would call bull!

Thanks! I called my local tire shop, and they don't carry Maxxis. I was looking for the M8008 ( i think, and going for Load Range D *ply)). They carry Freestar, and said they sell a lot of them. Is that repeat business? LOL.

Thanks for the advice!

Do yourself favor, Google the brand tire and check it on RV Net, never heard of it and sounds like a cheap China bombs.

You can buy Maxis online at Discounted Tire, my second choice was Green Ball which Forest River & Air Stream uses and Costco sells.

Thanks, that was through Discount Tire. I can purchase online for 432, and have my local tire (who I really like) mount and balance them for 100.

My springs are flat as well I just noticed. Is this an issue? There is a lot of banging and clunking that comes from the axles when backing or making tight turns. Actually, it doesn't matter as we are tired of this POS and getting rid of it!!

I have a 2015 Coachman Freedom Express 292BHDS which has 14" tires. I can't find in the owners manual if I can purchase larger tires or not. I was thinking about increasing to 15" tires or 14" bias tires. The 14" tires that are on here from the factory seem too small, especially when towing with cargo (not empty). I would feel better with n a larger tire but need to find out if it's ok to do.
