310bhds rodent proof?

Hello I am considering a 310bhds and due to many issues with mice on our previous wildwood, I was wondering if anyone has any comments as to how well these are built to keep out mice with the slides being open ? Also any additional pros/cons on these are Welcomed !!!

In reference to your question. The bottom of a freedom express 310BHDS has a full under belly cover the entire length of the under carriage. The purpose is to seal the tanks from being exposed to the elements and it retains heat during colder camping events. I suggest that you check the cover every year and if their is a gap between the cover and frame then use some of the spray insulation in a can to fill the gaps and any entry for air of rodents. As you travel that cover does move with the wind associated with travel and you my experience some gaps. So just check and fill with the spray foam, it works great.

No trailer is rodent proof. There are however many ways you can reduce a mouse infestation. Use the search function above with the search for "Mice" and you will have weeks worth of reading. I suggest "Fresh Cab" and "Decon pellets".

Here's what I do with my 310BHDS and so far, no mice.

We completely empty the camper of all food, toiletries, paper products, clothing and bed linens. Anything that mice could eat or use for nesting material. We wash its down to remove any crumbs or other residues that might attract them. We place fresh cab packets throughout the interior. We use more than is recommended. We search the outside for any possible mice entry points and seal them up. We raise the stabilizers so they can't be use to gain entry. After covering the camper, all strap ends are tied up so they don't lie on the ground. The only places where our camper touches the ground are at the tires and tongue jack.

The idea is to make your camper as difficult as possible for mice to gain entrance and keep the inside as inhospitable as possible.

Would you recommend this trailer ? I like the features but don’t know about quality.

The only thing I can tell you for certain is that mine hasn't given me a moment's trouble since I got it.

I'm also very diligent about maintenance.

In the interest of full disclosure I did have a tire blowout on my first trip but none since

Ouch that’s why you get a spare I guess. Could happen to any vehicle at any time. I plan on leaving it at a seasonal campground most of the time

The spare only works when they give you a Jack and a tire iron which they did not

Left the camper and my family on the side of the road in Georgia while I went to go buy the missing items

In 40+ years of owning tow behind campers, I have never received a jack or a lug wrench with any of them. They weren't missing... they were never there to begin with.

Regardless of how you choose to word it. I needed these items and did not have them.

Never meant to imply you didn't need them and didn't have them.

Simply wanting to point out to others that may read your post about them being 'missing'... those items do not come with any new trailer/5th wheel that I have ever owned/seen.

That was something that isn't mentioned during the PDI.
