381RD Winterizing

Hello All,

My first post on here, but I have learned a good bit from you all. I just bought a 2018 Chaparral 381RD a few months ago. I've had several TT's in the past. This rig is different. The water intake and waste water control panel is convenient but new to me.

I might be using the camper once or twice this winter, so chose to use air and blowout everything instead of filling all the lines with antifreeze. Think I have it all figured out EXCEPT: How do I drain the fresh water tank and winterize the water pump? The only drains I see underneath are apparently the low point for hot and cold lines. Can't find a drain for the fresh water tank...

Any advice or knowledge you can give me is MOST appreciated.

Well, I found the fresh water tank drain. Right above the rear axle.

Anyone have any thoughts on winterizing the water pump?

my unit has a pick up tube/stray right at the docking station. you can put it right into a jug of anti freeze and it goes straight to the pump.

What if you don't do the antifreeze way and you only do the air method that's what he's asking and I have the same question

Blow air into the pickup tube instead.

Don't forget to do the lines for the washer and dryer prep. I just about missed that my first time winterizing my 360ibl.

I am not sure where your FW tank drain is but worst case you can pull the low point drains and turn on the pump...

My fw tank drain looks like this. Sorry I cannot be more help.

I found the FW drain right above the rear axle. no, valve, though. just a screw on cap... i need to put a valve on, i guess. would be much easier.

I put these on my low point drains that just had screw on caps.
