Listen to my frinds Brisk Air unit and it was very quiet. Our unit resonates and its even hard to sleep. I will be going to rv stores to listen to units, this one is out of here!

Its not going to keep us from enjoying, we love the camper and it works out perfect for us. Thank you again.

We've had 3 campers now. The first came with a Dometic low profile... Loud and vibrated. We moved on to a Rockwood for two years... That one came with a Coleman Mach. It was so quiet (and it was a 15,000btu!!!). Now we have an Apex 288BHS and we're back to loud and vibrating Dometic. Honestly, even at just 1-year old, we're considering switching it out to a Coleman next season.

Thank you for your input, it is helpful. I am thinking about a mach 8 system. They advertise very quite. Any input on this unit?

Sorry, I don't recall which Coleman Mach we had. Ours was a ducted unit. It was basically just a steady fan noise. We hardly noticed when the compressor cycled on or off. I'm not saying they're all like that, but that was our experience.

If you make the change to another A/C, I would be interested in what your findings are.

Im gonna open mine up and see if theres a way to balance the fan just like the way you balance ceiling fans. Now that im using more i see what you guys mean!
Wonder if theres a variable speed thermostat we could get also.

I ordered a atwood 15k btu ac/heat pump. My boss is buying my dometic from me for $300 so im out $380 on this venture. Let me know if you can balance the blower and if it repairs the problem.

Are coleman units quieter then the dometic units? Also my unit is not duct, just blows out at the base of the unit so im sure that contributes. Any feed back would be appreciated, thank you in advance
FYI for everyone
My living room a/c was loud and there weren't any mud dobbers mud on the blades throwing it out of balance. I found my inside plastic blower wheel wobbling and out of round. I ordered a new plastic blower wheel cost me $8.98 plus shipping.
I replaced the blower wheel and the thing is quieter than the bedroom 13.5k unit now. I did find when you tighten the shaft clamp on the plastic blower wheel to not over tighten it or it will distort the wheel and cause it to wobble. So just snug it up just enough as to not distort the wheel when it spins. Mine is All quiet now.
I'm sure they just tighten the crap out of those plastic wheels at the factory and when they do it causes the wheel to distort and wobble and that's where all the vibration is from.
hope that helps you and we can even watch and hear the TV just fine now with the A/C on high speed.
