AC runs 24/7, PITA!
Why do rv acs have to run all the time. Why can't the fans cycle on and off like the compressors?

make sure thermostat fan is set to "auto" mode instead of fan "on"

Very common issue.
Should have a thermostat manual, that will have instructions.
If not, download one.
As was said, you probably have set on HI or LOW fan setting.
Should be on AU.

It is always set on auto. Hi/Lo fan does nothing. So you guys are saying the fan should cycle on and off as the compressor does? Just like My home AC does?

Yes, with the fan on Auto, it should cycle.
With the fan set to Hi or Low, it'll stay on 24/7.
Make sure you're not mixing the "auto" setting which decides if it should turn on heat or A/C depending on temperature with the actual fan setting.

On most travel trailer rooftop units, the fan does run all the time. I can't remember the wording in our manual, but it has something to do with air circulation. It is definitely annoying. Our mini MH has the same type of unit and it gets turned off when not needed and the windows opened.

Not so. It happen mostly with the newer Heat Pump units. But they too will cycle on and off if one learns how to use the t-stat.

I guess the question would be... what kind of rig does he have and what kind of t-stat and a/c.
Just pointing out that there are rigs out there with a/c's that have no ability to cycle the fan off and on.

I'am still buttoned up for the winter for a couple more weeks. If this is something I can change, I will. Can't stand that thing running 24/7 when not necessary. Sad to say that manual was not given to me when I bought the "BRAND NEW" TT.

There are two items that can be set. One is mode and it can be heat /cool/auto. The second is fan and it can be Lo/Hi/AUTO
Make sure the fan is set to auto.

Lee, it would help us to give you better answers if we knew what you are talking about. What is the make and model and year of your rig? If you posted a photo of the thermostat that might also be helpful.

We like having the fan on all the time. Went it cycles off and on it disturbs everyone sleeping. Dead quiet to the fan blowing and the compressor running to dead quiet again. The white noise is comforting.

...but you said " most travel trailer rooftop units, the fan does run all the time" which, as cavie wrote, is not true.

...most folks who run into this 'problem' are simply having the thermostat set on either LOW or HIGH and don't realize that this controls the FAN - meaning that you are telling the thermostat to run the Fan ALL THE TIME, in either Low or High speed.
...many also may not realize that AU/AUTO means that you want the thermostat to control the Fan, along with the compressor - it will then cycle it on and off, as needed.
Admittedly, though, sometimes the AUTO setting 'seems' that it, too, is allowing the Fan to run all the time, hardly ever turning off, with sometimes only a slight 'pause' while it adjust the fan from High to Low, or vice versa.
The AUTO Fan setting let's the Thermostat do the 'work', but the TEMPERATURE setting, along with the sensor's reading of your internal temperature, will determine when and how long and at what speed the Fan will run, sometimes much longer than even the compressor, and sometimes not even going off before the compressor kicks in yet again.

Depends on what AC you have seems the new attwood AC are set to run all the time . whereas the dometic or colemans did not and you could change the fan setting
