Another "What is This?" on Chaparral 360IBL

Seems like every trip we take, we discover something new (keeps our minds active, which is good).

What we are wondering now is what is this rectangle switch (but it's not a switch) next to the outlet for the air conditioner in the bedroom? It doesn't push in or out or up or down. It's also kind of sticky (need to clean it next time we have time to access it). DH wondered if they had inadvertently put a hole in the ceiling when installing the ac and just put this in the spot?

It may have been a "kill switch" at one time

Our Laredo had one to keep you from using fireplace and microwave at same time - it only had 30 amp service

I think you are right and they screwed up the install. Was your 2nd AC Dealer installed?

Mine does not have it..

Do you know if your unit has an option for a ceiling fan that was not install for one reason or another?

Ceiling fan only available in the living room. You can do a comfort fan, ac or nothing at all in that spot. As my pic showed, we have the same unit, same ac and mine doesn't have it.

Pretty sure that was a screw up by someone and all they could do was put a fake plate there to cover it up.

AC was either factory or dealer installed and blwnsmoke you made me laugh again. Yep, may be a fake plate. And a sticky one at that. Will clean it off and laugh every time I notice it.

That looks like glue where they glued that center piece in to cover the uhkohh.

I would think a blank plate would look better. IMO

We had are 2nd A/C added after market in our master BR. We have the same thing too. I was told that it is the electrical connection for the A/C, kind of a junction box.

Good to know...DH wants to delve into it to see what's up there. I told him to just leave it alone

Exactly what my first fiver had for the "prewired for 2nd AC" . pulled the cover plate to find the 120v wiring.

What he said.My Chappy lite has the same plug cover where the extra wiring is for the second air conditioner. It even had a label on it.Now ours is still sticky because I never remember to wipe it off.

It is a cover for the junction box for the A/C. I have one my chaparral. It is sticky because it had a warning label on it. I just added a second A/c and had to remove that plate to access the wiring.
