Apex Owners...Quick Question!

We now own a 2007 Rockwood Mini-Lite which we have been very happy with! But...it's time to go bigger! We are considering the Apex trailers...love the idea of the Adzel...plus they are pretty light trailers. To all of you Apex trailer owners...are you happy with your trailer? I would love to hear how you like your layouts and overall quality of the trailer. How's the storage? Usually it is just my husband and I along with our small dog, but we may occasionally have 3 to 4 others with us. Trying to figure out what to do. We pull with a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 (3.42 axle ration). Thanks for any input.

Great so far for our 288bhs.
Few things i modded and repaired, but over all quality is same as others ive owned or seen.
They are light and pull well with 1500 series trucks.
Storage is wonderful in ours but we dont over pack.
Good luck with your search!

Thanks for the input. Is your 1500 a 3.42 axle ratio?

We were hoping to pull a trailer 5000-5500 lbs (like the 259BHSS or the 288BHS) Think there's any chance with a 2015 1500 (3.42)?

I dont see why not, whats the max tow on it with the 3.42s? I think the 288bhs is lighter. My zinger was 900lbs lighter and i feel it!

Apex 279RLSS. 5400 lbs dry, estimated 6200 lbs loaded. GMC Yukon Denali 6.2 L with HD tow pkg 3.42 gear. Tow Rated at 7900 lbs. Recently pulled in the NC mountains and some 6% grades near Black Mountain. No problems...just took it easy...in tow mode and often on cruise control. Hit 4500 rpm a couple of times only. Me, wife and 3 small dogs. Love the layout and easy to set up and take down. Got the fold out couch bed for guests if and when. New this year...no major issues thus far.

The Apex Nano is a great option as well. We have had ours for 3 months and it's been great!

I have a 2014 apex 235bhs and i tow it behind a 2005 toyota tacoma and it does good. Camper loaded for camping weights 5500lbs. We are pleased with. Two things we are a little disappointed in is the ac unit seems to be a little loud for me( have post on here asking about that) second the top bunk is a little to close to the ceiling, other then that we love it.

Thanks for all the good information! Very helpful! Anyone have a 249RBS? That looks like it would work for us as well. Wondering how big the dinette is...could 2 adults sleep on it in a pinch?

Apex Owners...Quick Question!

We too went from a Rockwood Mini Lite (2014 2306) to an Apex (2015 288BHS). Even though it's about a 1000lbs heavier, our Apex tows better and I get the same gas mileage (actually about .2 mpg better).
We love the extra space... But I will say that the finishes and workmanship is a slight, but noticeable step down, as compared to the Rockwood. Coming from a 2007 Mini, you might feel otherwise.
We are very happy with our Apex.

We have a 2012 Apex 214RB. Tow with RAM 1500 Hemi. Great for the wife and I and our 3 beagles. Lots of storage inside and out. Unfortunately it developed a slide leak during a rain storm yesterday. Replaced the fridge that died last fall with a 4.5 cuft Fridgidaire since we always camp where there is at least water/electric.

apex travel trailer

We just upgraded to a 2016 Apex 250RLS. Traded the 2012RB. The quality is greatly improved over the 2012 models. Wt on the 2016 is 5072 dry and tows much better than the shorter 214RB. Has tons of storage and layout is great for us.

We have a 2015 249 RKS Apex. Really like it a lot. We bought this model because it's just the 2 of us and this floor plan fit our needs the best. Also, wanted a trailer with Azdel.

Storage is great - actually more than we need for week-long trips. But one lower cabinet in the kitchen is a wonky shape inside. Other than that, no complaints.

Not sure if your dinettes are the same size as ours. You could 'probably' sleep 2 adults on the dinette 'in a pinch' but SLEEP is the key word.

The only problem we've had is the AC. It worked just fine for the first few months, then wouldn't put out cold air any more. Took it to a local Dometic authorized repair place and they replaced the entire unit (it was still under warranty). Hope this AC unit lasts longer than the last one!

One other thing, we put a 3" foam mattress topper on the mattress. Feels much better.

Would we buy it again? You bet! Good luck!

We just got ur second Apex a 250RLS, dry wt is 5072. lots of room and storage space. great layout and we were especially impressed with the improved quality over our 2012 Apex 214RB. Our Ram has a 3.92 axle ratio and the new trailer tows very well with the equalizer hitch.

Glad to see the post from another Tacoma owner. My wife and I have been looking at the Apex Nano 185bh. We would love to know how a Tacoma would do pulling it.

Im pleased with how my 2005 tacoma tows our 235bhs. Dry weight is 4300lbs and with it fully loaded for camping 5300lbs. I said earlier 5500lbs but i ment 5300. Your dry weight is 2800lbs on the 185bh, add another 600 to 1000 for your supplys and gear. Tow it just fine.
