With the awning open look under the plastic covering inside the awning main rail attached to the rig you may find a bad connection or maybe an inline fuse there.

fuse

I have a 29RKS and behind the counter where the actual "remote" input sensor is (it has a blue light on it) contains an inline fuse. Once replaced, your lights should come on HOWEVER !!!!!!!! They routed the wires through holes in the frame WITHOUT any wire protection. I found these 2 areas and used rubber conduit to protect the wire that will eventually chafe and short. This task only took about 15 minutes and I am confident I will have no shorts in these areas. unfortunately, I have a sealed underbelly so I do not know what else lurks under there. If any problems exist, I will have to pull the underbelly...uggggg.
Hope this helps

Awning lights that have both a switch and a remote can sometimes act strange. There are two ways to turn them on and off. Think about it as if two separate power sources connected to same light. If you turn them on with a switch then the remote may not perform as expected. Turn the switch off. The try turning on and operating them with the remote.

Hey,
Where is this inline fuse you're referring to? My awning light just quit. No pinched lines and I have a newer 282 rk.

The second year I had my Dynamax DX3-37RB the awning lights failed. I climbed up a ladder to check and saw the VERY THIN (26 or 28 gauge) wire that powered the awning lights was broken. I was amazed that such a flimsy wire had lasted a year!

First, you need to find out where the short circuit is. The fuse blew because a wire shorted somewhere. DO NOT!! put in larger fuses!! The size of the fuse is there to protect the size of the wire and the load on that circuit. A larger fuse might allow the wire to melt and cause a fire before the larger fuse blows. Guaranteed,, if that fuse blew,,,a wire shorted somewhere,,,and the most likely place is where the wires are disturbed or flexed at a common point like where they feed the awning. That would be where the awning joints are when it is opened or closed. Hope this helps.

I dont have your model but we had an issue with our awning lights as well.. DH ended up opening a switch plate on the wall by the door . We dont have a slide but I think that empty switch plate is where the slide switch goes on other models.. Anyway he opened it an pulled out wires and found where the awning wires connect.. That connection was loose.. He pushed it back tightly and put electrical tape on it to help it stay put...Its been almost a year an have not had any more issues
