Awning Poles

I just finish my awning poles. I used 2 Aluminum painter poles, fabricated the bracket from some scrap steel and painted black to match awning hardware. The 2 1/2" "foot" is non-slip rubber from Ace Hardware.

On these cheap electric awnings that they put on them, there is no support on them. They provide support and you can tie them down, that way your awning does not go flipping up if it gets windy. Here are some photos of mine, also one with them in the stowed position.

Sye gives good Info, also the Poles Support the Awning in the Deployed position so you can place straps to secure the awning without "Bending" the alum arms! Without the poles using "Sun Screens" and other "Hanging Things" is asking for Bent/Damaged awning support arms! Youroo!! PS on "Rainy Days" you will Really find them Beneficial also!

I live in the country in the Midwest!
Awning poles are the only way to have your awning out.

My old winnie did not need any support however this new TT has an electric awning with no fixed support. So being new to this type of awning are the poles required to keep the awning from flopping in the wind?

I make the brackets and sell them in kits that include all the hardware you need if you decide to make your own using painters poles.
