Backup camera options

So, we are scheduled to pick up our 392mbl this Friday and I was wondering what is the best option for a backup camera. It is supposedly pre-wired (configured) for a backup cam but I don't really know what this means. What ones are everyone using?

Thanks
Jeff

Really excited for you guys.

Make sure and exercise all the subsystems before driving off.

Lots of discussion. On back up cams, try a search.

Mine came with the “way interglobal’. mount. The reviews convinced me not to pursue getting the camera.

But- the prewire is worthwhile. It’s easy enough to change the mount.

My research indicated the furrion observation camera was the best and most highly reviewed choice.

The ‘observation’ camera lets you operate the camera while traveling at the speed where is the furrion ‘rear back up version’ camera did not do such a good job while traveling at speed.

For now I am using a portable swift hitch camera since I need a remote camera in a few places (hitching, backing boat, etc).

furrion observation camera is hands down the best, we had it installed in our 300bh and it rocks during travel i can see behind me changing lanes and makes backing up a breeze. you wont regret it

Thanks for the input. I thought they would be cheaper (and I guess there are some out there that are) but it seems like the Furrion is the one to go with.

Thanks again
Jeff

That seems like a great deal. Everywhere else it is around $400. Why is it so cheap there? Also, do you need to buy the mounting kit that they list in the related items section?

Thank you
Jeff

Several members have ordered and received.

What would you think FR would post something illegitimate?

Just wanted to be sure it's a real FR website. I know FR wouldn't do something that wasn't legit, jeez, really....?

Purchased this unit from FR a couple of weeks ago. Already paired up coming out of the box. I put it on our ROO 21SS. Hardest part was fitting the connector into the housing. There’s not a whole lotta room.
I have yet to use it on the road. Our first trip is Easter weekend.

Has anyone come up with a good solid over the rearview mirror mounting for the Furion observation camera.

Tired of the dash mount. The rearview mirror area is the logical place to look when seeing things behind you.

Hi. Yes I did order from forest river electronics. 2 day shipping from elkhart, in.
Installed in less than 10 minutes and was already blutooth paired. Appears to work just fine. Will know next weekend.

I haven't ordered it yet. It seems like the tires may need to be changed first. I am getting a lot of feedback that they are just a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. I am still not sure how a manufacturer can get away with putting tires on something this heavy that are considered to be completely not up to the task.
