Brookstone 325 under bed storage collapsed!

We have a 2015 Brookstone 325 which has a huge storage compartment under the bed. The bed tips up with the aid of hydraulic lifts. On our current trip, I found that the bottom of this storage area is made of MDF board which was nailed into the sides of the bed. There is no center or cross support, so the whole thing has collapsed and is lying on the carpet. Don't know why Coachman would build you a storage cabinet that could ony support feathers.

Will have to remove this whole mess, build a proper frame which will have a rolling wheel under the center support (to match the wheels under the sides of the bed). Then I will put in a sheet of plywood to finish the compartment.

Just curious on how many others have found this problem?

I think our '11 is built the same. We have about 30 lbs worth of stuff in there, well distributed. No collapse yet, but we will take a look at it come spring.


They should put a maximum weight sticker somewhere, so you don't overload it.
