Regardless of why, you're fighting a fight that there is no winning. There are very few manufacturers who would give you any support on a second owner/used unit- in fact, I don't know of any. So, you're mad- we get it. You think Brookstone should cover it- you're wrong (sorry, no amount of shouting from the rooftops is going to change that).
Now, you bought an extended warranty- USE IT. Fix up the camper and get out and enjoy it. There's no sense in fretting over spilled milk at this point.
Your only other option is to contact a lawyer and spend a lot of money to find out you're wrong. And, if that's the case- this forum isn't for legal counsel or discussion.
