Clipper 17bh bunkhouse bike door

We have a coachmen clipper 17bh and a now 2 year old. We have a bedrail on the lower bunk where he sleeps but now heís at the age where we are afraid he might be unlock and open the fire escape/bike door that is on the bottom bunk. Has anyone made a type of cover that would block deter the little one from playing with it and potentially opening the door?

Ours had a window and since we didnt want the light either, we used a towel as a shade over the window and door handle. Out of sight out of mind. Reduced but didnt eliminate the risk of escapes.

We just used duct tape then. Would probably use Command Strips now.

We didnt want to stop the function of being able to open the door from the inside since it is a fire escape.

Hope that helps.

We put a piece of thick black fleece to block the light as well.. just open the door, drape a small bit along the top of the door and close it.. then we lock the door and tuck the remaining fleece over the entire door opening, covering the handle/lock, and stick it down past the edge of the bunk so it basically covers the entire thing.

A tension rod can also be put across the window frame so that itís always just there and covering the lock. Thatís what I did just to block the light.
