Coachmen 320BHDS Kitchen Slide question

Hi Folks,

Proud owner of a new 320BHDS, so far we love it.

Question for those who have this unit. The kitchen slide doesn't seem to deploy as far out as the other slides. That is the foam cushion that surrounds the slide doesn't make contact with the wall of the travel trailer, like the other two slides do. It misses contact with the wall about an inch. The dealer's mechanic says this is normal, but doesn't seem right to me.

Can you let me know if yours makes contact, and if so, a picture of it would be helpful to convince the mechanic (who is a bit of a jerk!) that it is wrong.

Thank you!

We had the same unit and ours was the same as yours. I think it's because the kitchen slide has a different mechanism than the other two.

I would sure think it needed to make contact to seal out critters and such. Why would it be there if it didn't make contact with the outer wall? Good luck with that "jerk"...

That's my thought as well. It is a different slide mechanism.

ours goes out and makes a firm contact with the seal then backs up a little bit. not enough to cause concern but like Tom commented the slide mechanism is different from the other two.

we were told when we purchased our 333bhks last week that the kitchen slide is a totally different mechanism operating with a gear system and motors.

I don't think the mechanism for moving the slide would have anything to do with weather or not the flange of the slide-out makes contact with the seal. Sounds like a red heron to me....
Maybe you should try to contact Coachmen to ask them.

I was prepping mine for our first trip of the year today. The kitchen slide doesn't fit as tight to the wall, (it is a different mechanism) but it does make firm contact with the seal.
