Are you referring to the Forest River 2nd year warranty?

Got it. Just making sure. Now that I know, I created your own thread with this question.

The bottom line is I'm not sure but my guess is the difference between a Division of Forest River, which is what Coachman is (among others) and a "brand" that is made directly by FR.

The divisions may or may not have the option of being covered by the 2nd year warranty. These divisions also have more flexibility and control in manufacturing, as I understand it, so it cuts both ways.

Its even more confusing with Prime Time, another division. Their trailers except for one do not have the 2nd year coverage. The newish PT Sanibel is covered for some reason.

I don't know the number for Coachman but the general Forest River Ph. Number is 574-389-4600. Let us know what you find out if you call and ask.

I always heard that you had to purchase the 2nd warranty within the first 10 days, but others have posted they received the warranty after that by contacting FR.

I looked into it when I got my trailer last year. I talked to both Coachmen and Forest River. They both said the 2 year warranty is not available for Coachmen trailers.

the 2nd year warranty is only available on original FR brands and not the ones that were acquired by FR, during this current economic downturn.
this includes: Coachmen, Prime Time, Dynamax, Shasta and Viking.

(FR did acquire Palomino, but it was way before the current recession. i believe Palomino also had been offering a 2nd year warranty and FR just allowed it to continue when they acquired the company)
