Just purcashed a new Apex 215RBK 50th anniv, elite . Its been in the shop for a month now. Does anyone out there know if the outside vent for the stove / oven / mwave is outmatic or you have to physically open it somehow? Unfortunatly The repair place has no clue how it opens

Thanks,
Julie

Julie, we've had trouble with ours too. Join us over in the Coachmen forum on the thread "Potential new Apex Owner", the guys there have offered various solutions. We haven't been over to storage yet to work on ours.

I had a really hard time with mine and just figured out how to open it a few days ago. Off the top of my head I don't remember if I pushed the two tabs up or pulled them down but I got it open. We're going on a trip this weekend so I'm bringing the trailer home tomorrow evening. If you don't get an answer by then I'll take a picture of how I opened mine and post it.

OK so if you look up into the vent there are 2 tabs. You will likely need a small ladder or something to get to them. I'm 6'2" and I can't reach them well. If you push up on them they will start to bend out. You need to put upward pressure and let them come out a little. To get mine open originally I had to work one side a bit loose then pry the vent slowly with a thin screwdriver. It's a complete pain but now that I have opened and closed it a few times it's getting a bit easier. I'm considering filing the catch on the vent down a bit. I know this isn't a great description but it's a bit hard to explain. I took two pics and attached them. Hopefully they will help.

A bit change of subject if you don't mind. Just purchased 2015 215 RBK and going out for first time this weekend. Dealer said not to travel with table up, but don't see why not. Anyone out there that's travelled with this type trailer, and had table up or down?
