Anyone have thoughts, positive or negative, on this unit? Thanks in advance.

I have a 288 and we love it. Only complaint is the paint on the frame is garbage and the short queen bed suck also.

We have the big brother to this, the Apex 269RBKS and love it! The wife really likes the large bathroom and the pantry. No problems with quality I think you'll like it.

Thanks for everyone's input. I'm wondering if the 249 has 14-inch or 15-inch wheels.

We have the Apex 258 RKS. Only trouble we've had was the faulty AC. It was replaced under warranty.

Good to know......
We were just at an RV show in Hershey PA and purchased the Apex 251RBK. Basically the 249 without the rear second door but with an outdoor kitchen. Hoping it was a good purchase. Excited to get camping.

Hope it was good, also. Let us know how it goes and we will do the same if we buy. Thanks.

We went to the RV show in Hershey yesterday. We ordered a Apex 249rbs. It should be in the end of Nov. We are pretty excited about it.

Tebpac, Did you buy the one they had at the show? We spent a decent amount of time in the one at the show. Very nice trailer. We were looking for the old layout of the 249 but ended up buying the updated version. It has the longer queen bed in it.

Jeff,
We did not buy the one at the show. It apparently was already sold. We initially wanted the 249 but my wife liked the 251 better. Pros and cons to each. We'd supposed to pick up ours in November as well in Pittsburgh/Ellwood City. This will be our first TT. Excited and nervous.

Todd,
This will be our first also. Ours will come in to Pitts as well. We liked the second door on the 249 for using the bathroom when we are outside. I don't think there are any cons to either one. Just what someone prefers. Do you live in PA? We are just south of Harrisburg. More excited than nervous. What is your tow vehicle? Good luck.

Jeff,
We did like the rear door option with the bathroom etc. Not tracking in stuff etc. They let us know that the 249 was still available but for some reason, my wife liked this layout a little better. The outdoor kitchen was a toss up but everyone I talked to who has one uses it a lot. We live in State College. We've had a Pop up for 20 years and was time to change. Our TV is a 2012 Toyota Tundra DC 4.6L 4x4 with a tow package. You?

Good luck with the TT! I told my wife that we'll probably get the biggest snowstorm the week the trailer comes in so plan on cold weather boondocking!

So basically not so much of a lift kit but increasing the suspension travel to lessen wear and tear on the TT. Thanks for the heads up. In all my research, I hadn't come across that. Still lots to learn.

It's not a lift kit. It's more like having shocks on your trailer and the shackles are heavier built plus they are greasable with bronze bushings.

There are 2 other companies that make kits similar. Dexter & Lippert are the companies.

Going to gave to put that on my list of "improvements". We tend to boondock a fair amount in the Allegeny National Forest and that would help withe the forest roads.
