I was looking at this unit on a dealership site and was wondering if anyone on here owns or knows about this model. It has opposing slides and a kitchen island, which seems pretty unusual for a 25-foot trailer. Really nice layout for a small camper.

My question stems from the description that says the Freedom Express only has ducted heat and air in units 27 feet and larger. Sure enough, I didn't notice any ducts in the photos on the site I'm looking at.

It looks like wooden pocket doors can close off the bedroom, but it seems you'd get mighty cold in there (and in the bathroom) without ducted heat. Even with the doors open, the bedroom seems pretty much isolated from the rest of the camper by the floor-to-ceiling entertainment center. I have a 25-foot Surveyor with a similar layout - but not opposing slides - that I think would be uncomfortable without the ducted heat and air.

Any thoughts on this? I'm not trying to put down anyone's Freedom Express. Just wondered if this is an issue. Thanks.

If I need to circulate air I run the A/C fan with the furnace but most of the time I'm using campground power to run the ceramic heater. Even with the heater plugged in at the rear wall the bedroom is still plenty comfortable with the doors open...no need to close them with just the 2 of us.

Thanks for the response. Looks like a very nice trailer. Those opposing slides opening up the space for a center island is a great idea. Probably not many 25-footers with that much room and counter space. Good looking on the outside, too.

Very spacious with the 2 slides. However, I didn't think I would miss having a couch but I do. Not enough to make me trade but in hindsight, I would pick the 248RBS.


Country Roads sale price is still $3000 higher than what I paid.

Nice trailer but no couch. We loooked at the 248 also but there is no counter space inside the trailer. We purchased the 246 instead and are very happy. This is our 4th coachmen product

We purchased this unit in July and love it! It's just my husband and I and we pull it with a Toyota 4Runner. It does have ducted air, but not heat. The first thing I did was replace the foam in the dinette cushions to a more dense foam and will eventually remove the dinette and put in 2 recliners. It is the perfect size for a couple and a very comfortable camper.

We looked at one of these today. We ask the dealer if we could replace the dinette with swivel rocker recliners or a sofa. He said it was no problem at all. We never use the dinette anyway. We are down sizing from a 30 ft. and really like the layout of this trailer.
