Dometic air conditioner?

Hi all

I have a question about our new Freedom Express Travel Trailer. I never had a Dometic air conditioner before, when I had it running the other day, it sounded like the fan on the outside that blows on the condenser was running in water, does anyone else’s sound like that?

Thanks!

Hmm, I do not recall that but if it is, maybe your ac water drain got plugged by some debris. If you get a chance to record a small video or audio of the sound, it may help.

I know one of my window units on my house does that. It's supposed to. Instead of letting the condensation drain out, they make it evaporate, which in theory improves the heat transfer out of the condenser. So the air it pulls in to blow out through the condenser makes the condensation evaporate, cooling the air, so it can pickup more heat as it passes through the condenser.

On really humid days, the evaporation can get really behind, and I believe that's when you hear the fan hitting the water. Either that, or they are using the fan to "pump" the water up so it can evaporate better.

Of course, I could also be completely wrong.

You wouldn't think that the water drain would be plugged up on a new TT.

I agree, but if you were camping, things fall off of trees and get blown around ect. You never know. Just brainstorming.

If only more things in life were like that! That's usually my first plan of action...see if it fixes itself.

drain holes were most likely plugged not allowing all the water to drain .
