Electrical Schematics

Does anyone have a source to get an electrical schematic for Coachman Catalina Travel Trailers?

It is unlikely you will find what you are looking for. If you do, it will most likely be something generated by an owner. Your best bet is to ask your specific questions here.

you can draw your own schematic by giving a 2 year old some crayons and paper. Would look just like the random loops and piles of wire..

Call Coachmen Engineering dept. They, unlike FR, may print you a nice set of 12V DC, 120 VAC and piping schematics. Mine were for a 316K.

Can you explain/clarify the distinction between Coachmen Engineering and FR?

10 years ago, FR didn't own Coachmen. I bet customer service was better then.

Coachmen has been fighting the bit since being acquired by FR. They are a division of FR but have retained a lot of their autonomy. What was before most likely still is.

Coachmen did some maintenance on Coachmen units at the FROG Rally last year, but it seemed somewhat grudging and required some arm twisting for example.

Sure the divisions are under the same umbrella but some continue to have individual design and construction modules. Not all FR divisions are homogenized, yet.

Actually I have been corresponding with FR about an electrical issue i'm having with my 2015 coachmen FE 320bhds liberty edition. Gentleman by the name of Steve notified me that there wasn't any electrical schematics for at least my unit. But he somehow knew where the splices were made exactly at under the slides. So I did find a wire that is shorted out in the middle slide, now waiting to see if they have any suggestions on how to perform this task of replacing it. Seems to go from wall fixture to light under cabinet, but it seems to me the wire is running up to ceiling of slide across to far wall of slide and then underneath to light approximately 10' of wire.
Pulled wire but no movement. Any suggestions from this group?

If the wire is routed through a exterior laminated wall, slide or fixed, you cannot "renew it". When the wall is fabricated the wire is sealed in insulating foam, alum structure and sandwiched between inner and outer layers, heated and glued. Your best bet is to neatly surface wire between the fittings.

Thanks Vince, I came to a similar conclusion but wanted to avoid wiring out in the open if I could.
