First in the books

Successful first trip this past weekend. Only a couple of glitches, first got new tires for the tv and then forgot to adjust the hitch height because I went two sizes bigger. Had the better half with the tape measure as I backed in near the fence with the hookups and I forgot that she doesn't read tapes so well so had to reposition for the slide outs. Other than that flawless. Campground wasn't fully ready like they said they were over the phone but had a good trip. Need to pick up a couple things but going back up in a couple weeks.

I also have just completed my first trip. Never have someone else reserve your site, this was so slanted the I have to put 4 4" blocks under the front end to get it level, then proceeded to make a extra step into the trailer so we could get in and when bringing Pull Pork out for dinner for our group of 12, the extra step collapsed and I got a good burn from the crock pot and also a stiff back and legs. Whoops!!!!! Other than that the Weather was great and I also took a trip to Marquette MI where they still have ice floats in the bays, only the crazy kayaker were out navigating around them.

Sounds like you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. Yes here in Michigan the weather was perfect. My holiday starts Saturday (short straw, had to work the weekend) but instead of a 3 day weekend it's gonna be a 7 day'er. Pretty wild that there's still Ice chunks on superior, reminds me of winters when I was a kid.

dlzeller, used to go to a campground about 6 miles west of Alpena right on the river. Used to get one of the sites where I could park my small boat right at the campsite. Probably been 10 years since I've last been there. Is it still there? Remember the weeds were starting to choke out the canals. Had a good time though, Like Alpena.

Camp site

The would be Campers Cove on the ThunderBay River, they have really fixed it up nice and its a very busy campground. Glad you enjoy our little big town. Many new things here and we have a National Park now, with a ship wreck museum. Come back and visit us.

Dlzeller, hope you recover soon and enjoy the rest of the season. I realized that I need to build a step as well, first one is kind of high for my little guy. Thinking of making a trek out to Oswego for the harbor fest the end of July...any recommendations on good campgrounds in Oswego?

Shipwreck museum? That I'm gonna check out. Going to the Soo week before labor day, then down to Mackinaw City for the weekend and bridge walk. Love the drive up the coast, beautiful drive.

Good to hear all the success stories.
We took our new Apex 215RBK out for the first time to Allegany State Park, our favorite campground.
Great weather, no major problems, looking forward to many more camping trips!
