Freedom Express 297RLDS

Well we bit the bullet and sold our 2008 Jayco 29 bhs G2, I bought a brand new 2012 FE 297RLDS.

Really like the floor plan and the huge amount of storage, beside kids are now 18 and 22 so the bunks were not all that useful to us now.

We looked at many trailers and couldn't really find much else that compared for the price. We also purchased a permanent site to put the trailer on so wanted something larger with more room.

Looking forward to getting out in it.

Curious that I have seen so few threads on this floorplan.

Still debating on the aftermarket extended warranty getting offered, haven't even picked up the trailer yet so really not sure, but the onsite service offered in the warranty has me thinking that it may be 1800 well spent.

Thoughts?

TJ

Congrats on the new travel trailer!

I don't have any experience with that particular unit, but I hope you and your family have loads and loads of fun.

Sorry you haven't had any comments yet. People are probably out camping!!

Also anyone familiar with where the bypass valves are? Dealer thought they might be behind the toiler in the bathroom.

Congrats on your rig!! Looks like you will be having a great time. I have no idea where the bypass valves are.

Welcome to the forum...

Everything I read on extended warranty from anybody on anything is it is a wast of money. I usually don't buy it, but I did get it on the last truck I bought "used". "Your mileage may vary" as they say. I have also seen on this forum that most think the $150 one year extension from Forest River is a good deal.

Yeah but I guess they don't offer that on the coachmen line

I think we did pretty good on the trailer price, just based on what I could find online, and the dealer here is not trying to force the warranty on us either, basically told us to think about it as we have a year to decide ( has to be added before factory warranty ends )

Thanks
TJ
