Exclamation Help! fresh water drain plug missing ...

Just went to fill up with fresh water as we are leaving in the morning for the long weekend, and it seems the dealer left off the drain plug when they PDI'd the new trailer as its all pouring out the drain.

Unfortunately the dealer is 2 1/2 hours away, so my question is what kind of plug/cap do I need for this? Size of the fitting? Something I can pick up from Canadian Tire or Rona/Home Depot?

Thanks

Would this work? Says its drain plug for water heater, is it the same?

http://www.amazon.com/Camco-11630-Wa.../dp/B00C5T7PSO

They have it with a wrench at Canadian Tire:

Most likely its a 1/2 female thread cap or half inch threaded male plug

If you thread something like this on it, you will be happier in the long run.

Problem now is I need something ASAP in the morning so we can get going as everything is closed now for the night, so whatever I can find the fastest I'm just going to put on for now.

The one with the valve would definitely nice as there's no plug to lose.

So the Camco water heater plugs I found above should work for now I assume? They are listed as 1/2".

Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, water heater plugs are male thread & the fresh water tank cap will be a female thread. At least that's how they are on mine.

So, following Lefty59's lead, I'll ask if you can see the threads on the outside or are they inside the end-of-drain connector?

Typically those plastic/nylon/metal plugs/caps can be found at HD, Lowes and most any hardware store.

When I dewinterized mine the first time, the dealer had placed the drain plug in the water heater compartment. May be a long shot, but worth checking before heading to Home Depot. Good luck and hope all goes well.

The plugs I linked above on Amazon/CT were a perfect fit. Afterwards we found it in the kitchen sink! Guess I have extras now.
