Jensen Radio?

Does anyone have this radio/dvd player? The only function I can get to work is the dang radio. I plug my ipod into it and it says USB Load then switches back to radio. I put a DVD in and it says DVD Load then shuts off. It would've been great if Boat n rv had stuck the manual for the radio in here when I bought it 😠

Well, you could always go to the Jensen Electronics web site and download the manual. I don't have that model Jensen, so I can't help you.

Jensen Manuals

Sounds like you may have a broken unit. See if these help.

Thanks, I read the troubleshooting stuff after Ken suggested their website (duh) I'm going to pull out it to see if they removed the shipping screw after I get off work tonight. If not I guess I'll call Coachmen :/

Go to the following website and scroll down til you find the manuals for the model AWM968. They have both an owners manual and a troubleshooting manual available to download.

https://www.jensenrvdirect.com/manuals-guides

We just purchased a 2013 Wildcat Sterling and the stereo would only play radio. It turned out the previous owners grandchild had spilled a coke in it and it would only play the radio. As you describe, it would attempt to start to play the other inputs but would quickly revert itself to the radio input.

We replaced it with a Jensen JWM6A and could not be more pleased with the new one.

Good Luck

I had to replace mine and was pretty frustrated with it because the new unit would eject the dvd or cd as soon as I put it in. Was ready to throw it in the garbage, decided to read the trouble shooting guide and realized I needed to remove the shipping screw and all worked well after that.

Here's what really makes me angry about these el-cheapo entertainment units Coachmen (and other trailer manufacturers) install. I have a nice Jensen 32-inch HD television with HDMI inputs in my trailer. Coachmen then installs a Jensen stereo unit that only has 1980's era low bandwidth RCA video outputs. Jensen does make a similar head unit with HDMI output that probably costs $5o more (in bulk). I'd gladly pay $50 more on a $25,000 trailer to get the better unit. Go figure.

I could go into the Blu-ray situation, but I don't want to get too worked up about penny-pinching manufacturers.

Right - I had to buy the cable/connector to wire my TV audio through the same stereo as well. They could have at least connected the devices for a $30k RV. It may be difficult to tell much difference on the 32" TV we have but you would on larger ones with HDMI.

All the negatives said I do love the zoned audio it provides. We can turn on the living area, master bedroom, or outside and each alone or in any combination. We play Pandora Since it bluetooth's to your smartphones.

The cut wires are for unused speaker outputs (violet is right rear, light green is left rear) and power antenna (blue). Mine has the same. They cut them off to prevent them shorting to each other, and they don't expect anyone to add speakers or a power antenna. If you were upgrading speakers, you'd probably get rid of this basic head unit too.

I have the same unit, and mine seems to work fine. The USB input is not for an iPod/iPhone though - it's supposed to be for a USB thumb drive with MP3's on it. It's hard to navigate though, because it's a bare-bones directory listing of everything on the drive. For my iPhone, I use the Bluetooth feature, and that works great. I hooked up my TV to the AUX input on the back, and I use the front input for my Sirius radio.

Thank you! I was trying to play music through my android phone and my ipod. That explains that part....I guess I'll have to call them for the DVD player not working though.
