Mods made to our 360IBL

I'm starting this thread to show the mods we've made to our Coachmen Chapprral 360IBL. Most are minor and hope they might help someone else. I will be adding to this thread in the future.

This was the mod we did last weekend...we took the fire extinguisher for B-C type fires that was by the front door and put it in the basement within easy reach when opening the basement doors. DH replaced it with one rated for A-B-C fires and also put one in the bedroom. I have NEVER determined why this little block raised section was by the dresser but it ended up being the perfect place for a new extinguisher.

The one by the front door and one in the bedroom:

Hit send too fast. Added shocks to overhead cabinets, slide toppers to bedroom and bunk room, added a power insert fan in bathroom. Did not take picture yet of the removable extension I made for bottom bunk for longer leg guests.

buskirk21921: DH is in process of putting in the gas struts for the overhead cabinets. Have done the vent covers but haven't upgraded any of the vent fans Really do like the slide toppers...trying to convince DH to put that on the to-do-list. We took out the bunks to make my scrapbook room...pics of that to be posted in a few weeks. Very interested in your bunk bed extention.

When the young man who delivered our 360IBL had parked it, he told me to be careful of the hallway at night. He said if you're in a campground and you don't turn on the bedroom light (don't want to wake up DH), he said it is dark, dark, dark in the hallways of most 5ers. We do have a hallway light but it's at the bottom of the stairs so DH installed a battery powered, motion activated light that shines toward the stairs as you walk out of the bedroom. Pretty sure he got it on Amazon

Sorry I can't add a photo here but the system keeps telling me the file is too large and I don't know how to adjust that.

He also added a solar powered, motion activiated porch light between the awning rails and the slide out beside the door. (sorry that picture is too big to load also)

DH has said that for right now, we are not going to install a washer/dryer unit in the middle bedroom closet. So I bought these drawer units (I got three which fit but I'm using only two with a laundry basket for dirty laundry on top of the two) that fit PERFECTLY in that middle space. More drawers! My picture is too large to upload so I am sending the link to the drawers:

This is the drawer unit installed where the washer/dryer should be. It fits PERFECTLY as there is no lip on the sides or bottom. You can push the units back all the way to the back wall and it will leave some room in front of the drawer unit so that you can put broom, mop, etc if you don't want to hang them elsewhere.

And although this is not a mod, had someone once comment that when they once let a slide out, one of their cabinets had opened. They didn't realize that when they opened the slide and the slide pulled off the cabinet door and bent the decorative piece that borders the slide. As you can see in this picture, if the top cabinet opened, the slide could still go in and out with no problem (provided that nothing fell on the floor). However if the bottom cabinet opened and the slide was deployed, it could cause some problems. So we always let out the dining area/recliner area slide first. Stick our head around the corner to make sure both cabinets are closed and nothing has fallen out. The cabinets in the unit close securely and we've never yet (knock on wood) had any of them open during travel, but it's just something we've added to our procedure when we set up.

We put a small refrigerator where the barstools were, for adult beverages. We can still use the barstools on the side of the island and the side of the island where the back of the fridge is. We turn it with the door toward the leg on the island when the slides are in. Fits perfectly and we place the stools side by side on the other side of the island leg. (hope that makes sense). DH is going to install an outlet on the inside of the island so that the cord doesn't drape across like in this picture

And altho an addition rather than a mod, here's our Brita water pitcher and Igloo ice maker. The $99 we spent on that ice maker has more than paid off since there isn't an ice maker in the refrigerator. And it's RED! We put red where ever we can--coffee maker, pillows, trays, plastic glasses. Really brightens up the inside

Got this at Sam's and although our mattress was good, this makes it even better and probably even more comfortable than the one we have at the house
