Mystery Piece of New Trailer

I'm trying the forum first before contacting Coachmen to see if any member knows what this mystery piece of siding might be. (pic attached)
This came from a 2016 Clipper 16FB and was found while winterizing, loose on the floor beside the water heater. It is a small piece of aluminum siding with a hole and a slot cut through it. My dealer has no clue why it was there.
I have 2 guesses. It was there to shield something on the water heater or it was an installation template used on the factory assembly line and forgotten about.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Oh my! You wrote on it and voided the warranty. Good luck getting anything on that rig fixed.

Seriously, it looks like a piece of siding cut out from something that needs to penetrate to the outside. But, based on that kind of siding, which may only be part of the siding removed for it (the mysterious "it") do you have hole in the siding 10" x something high? The hole is made for the snips that cut out the piece, probably the water heater is my guess.

I wonder if it had something to do with positioning the propane line into the heater.
No outside holes
looks like a piece of scrap similar to the scrap they use to side the trailer LOL

My guess it is a scrap piece of siding that was used as a note pad to remember some measurements. You can find lots of things, tools, zip ties etc behind panels. and drawers.

Is there an opening cut through the siding that is about 10" wide?

Like when they cut out the rough opening for a water heater?

Re: Mystery Piece Of New Trailer

TO me it might be from the hole needed for the Range Vent. Just my 2 cents worth.

Probably just trash. My 2017 Crusader was full of sawdust and hole pieces that were cut out with hole saws and old cut wire ties and dropped screws. Haven't run into anything that size but haven't been behind every wall or partition yet. They only clean what you can see when they finish the rig.

mystrey peice

Looks like the cut out for the stove vent. I have a 2017 17fq and while winterizing I found all kind of trash behind the cabinets panels. And the water filter was full of plastic shavings' from hole drilling they don't clean up after building I guess to save time and money, save it for a patch in your siding for later.
