No caulk around shower.

On our first trip out in the Catalina, I noticed there was no caulk or anything around where the shower walls come down and meet the tub. I also thought the sinks could have been caulked a little better than they were. Is there any particular kind I need to use before I go camping again? Everything else went great for our first trip. Everything worked and we had a good time.

They say not to caulk the walls for ventilation. Mine is like that also, and haven't had a problem. There is adequate overlap to not leak.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure. It had a little gap where they meet and I was afraid water might get up in the wall or something. I feel better now.

Me too. I felt better after it was discussed in another thread.

We had leaks just on the outside wall. We used an old style tub corner guard which helps keep the curtain in the shower . We used caulk around that and problem solved

I caulk mine. Used regular kitchen and bath caulk from Lowe's. My last unit wasn't caulked and water got between the tub and surround and leaked onto my floor along the back wall. Luckily after 3 people took back to back showers enough water leaked out from under the tub I saw it. Traced it back and cleaned it up. Caulked it the next day. Never had that problem again. I've already caulked my new (to me) Catalina.
