Cool OK, it finally happened

OK, it finally happened guys. I blew a rear tire on my Chaparral on I-10 E and it tore off the right skirting. We're getting new tires Monday, but I need to replace all of the skirting on the right side. Fortunately, that's all that needs done.
We're on the road right now in Southern NM. Estimated repairs are about $1500 - 2K. Biggest problem is shipping of the replacement parts, somewhere in the neighborhood of $500. It's 2 years old and out of warranty.
Basic ideas are:
1) Limp home and fix it or have it repaired by our local rv shop.
2) Go to Indiana and have to repaired at FR/Coachmen place or something along those lines.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Have you thought about visiting one of the RV salvage lots and buying the part? It could save you a ton of money. here is a link to one not far from you. https://www.azrvsalvage.com

Not sure if it is more or less competitive but I have had good luck getting replacement parts direct from Christy at coachman.

They will need the last 4 digits in the vin.

Wow, that's great. One of the best pieces of information I have received on the forum. Thank you.

thanks for the info

Thanks for the info guys. FYI: spent a week in Deming NM which is longer than we usually are and really enjoyed our stay there. Meanwhile, I got an estimate from a local RV shop for $1700+ ($500 shipping for the parts). Yikes! no way, there had to be a better answer. I suppose that they were jacking it up for the insurance money. I replaced all 4 tires at a tire store, very nice and helpful guy and good price on American tires. Left the damaged side not repaired. We decided that we would use the $500 and go to Elkhart ourselves and get the parts. We would driveway surf with DW family a coupe of hours south of there. En-route to IN, I called FR to get info on the parts. I sent them pics they told me what I needed, great folks to work with and I decided to order them. So, replacement parts with shipping, to my home, just over $500. We went home and are awaiting them now.

What was the brand of tire that caused the damage?
