Pex and shark bite ?

My tt has pex tubing in it, looks like 1/2" is this the same pex that is used in homes? I am wanting to get some tubing and some shark bite fittings so if I need to make a repair at the campground.

cant say i have messed with my campers pipes yet, but i do recall another thread where a guy was replacing a sink and said the connectors didnt fit well?? not sure which pipe he had exactly....

i will say that pex and shark bites work very well....i use them all the time on other projects.....im sure someone else will jump in shortly and know the answer...

It's not pex, but the "push in" pex fittings will work if you get the lines cut off straight and smooth and you use the sleeve insert that comes with the fitting.

Oh yeah, I'm "the guy" with the sink faucets.....

HA...i knew the "faucet" guy would show up!! LOL....and your right its NOT pex......technically....

my tech said "it aint really pex, but its real close n purty much the same thing from china kinda stuff"...LOL...whatever that means.....

It means the trailer manufacturer is cutting corners instead of buying real pex lines and fittings to improve their bottom line on the profits sheet.

Knowing full well you'll be out of warranty before you have a problem with it in year two or three.

Or maybe you'll be lucky enough to never have a problem.

You just never know with questionable quality "boat products" made by someone being paid a couple bucks a day for their labor.

"Copies", "knockoffs" and "almost the same" are the standard of the day with "Made in China" products.....
