I have a 2014 apex 235bhs 50th anniversary package with all the options you could get. I purchased it used, the couple only used a few times and needed to sell quick so i get a excellent deal (which never happens for me). I have own it sense march and have been very pleased with it except for the loud ac ( i have a thread about) but i am changing it to a atwood. Any how i tow it with a 2005 tacoma and camper with our gear weighs 5500, the tacoma does fine. So your tundra wont blink a eye at the 288bhs.

Potential new Apex owner/Apex 288BH info

I inquired about an awning topper this spring. My local guy said he could do it but the edge that runs above our slide creates an issue. He doesn't think there's enough room to install the topper without removing it, and removing it will result in holes that need to be sealed (potential for issues). He suggested that if its not leaking, clean it off before retracting it each time and let it alone (easy to say as long as it's not raining). I have an extendable broom that can be flipped over to a squeegee on the other side. I've used it each time out to clean the slide before bringing it in... and it works fine.
That said... If I thought putting one on would be easy to do (by a FR dealer), I'd probably go ahead and do it (but I certainly don't want holes filled with silicone). I will probably explore this option again when it goes in for some warranty work next month.

Congrats to the PP on your Apex. Great value for the buck. And yes, the Tundras tow these campers perfectly.

Anyone use a Hensley or ProPride hitch? I've been looking at them. They are very expensive but seem really nice as far as absolutely no sway.

I use an Equal-i-zer. It's my first WDH but I like it a lot. Supposed to be one of the best.

1,300 miles towed so far and I haven't had even a wiggle with my Equal-i-zer.

This is my first post, but have been researching the 288BHS (or 28LE). I have a lot of questions, but wanted to ask a few first.

How have the wood interior finishes been holding up? I looked at a used 2015 28LE yesterday and the laminate corners seemed to be roughed up in many different places.

I haven't seen any 12V outlets inside either model. Has anyone run 12V inside? Basically, I want to run a 300w Pure Sine inverter for a TV when boondocking.

I have been pleased so far with the way the interior has held up on my 235BHS. Also I use a equalizer brand hitch and it works excellent, wouldn't recommend any other hitch.

My corners are taking a beating. Worst place is the bench seats at the table.
I haven't done any 12V projects. Sorry.
Ask any question you have! Be glad to offer an opinion!

Our trailer looks the same it does the day we got it. We spent 25 days straight in it this month. We drove from Hamilton to Indiana all the way to Fort wilderness and home. No issues at all. Very happy with the trailer and the way it has held up.

I use the equalizer WD and sway control. Very pleased with it as well.
